Oo Pick Me!

I went on a marvelous adventure with Shelby to the villages today. We found all sorts of neat and pretty things that were screaming for their picture to be taken. The villages is just too perfect for taking pictures. We also found quite a few strange and unseemly things, and had some wonderful laughs ;). She's awesome! And..........so is my new lens. I'm now about ready to just drop in bed! ^_^

Another Place and Another Time

Caleb and myself are the family bookworms. I believe we're the only ones that have discovered the innumerable magical, worlds you can enter in through them. It's so very real that we can both get so absorbed into them that we can't leave until it's finished. I am a bit jealous that I don't have as much time to read as Caleb does these days. Today a book he's been waiting to be finished arrived in the mail. He wrote a music piece for a contest, was a semi-finalist and had the book sent to him before it's in stores. How exciting! You can imagine what he's doing right as this moment.

On a side note, I'm very excited! Dad's bringing home my new lens!

Craft Store Rules

As a rule of thumb, don't take boys into Michael's if you want to be inspired while you walk around for hours. They start bouncing balls over aisles, become antsy, and seek attention. *cough* lol. It just doesn't work, therefore I've learned I do all my best shopping by myself. :) And, that is precisely what I did today. Oh, how I love that store... =D

If All Else Fails, Leave It To Tomorrow

I love it when a plan comes together. That did not happen for me today. I had all sorts of ideas for pictures, but by the time I got around to it this evening it was already too dark. I have been wanting to get some shots of floating candles in our pool at night and again that was a fail. But the pool as a whole left me enough lighting and I absolutely love the way it looks at night. The atmosphere brings back so many memories. Notice the lovely, lonely candle to the left. Yeah...I'm too tired to care lol.

A Footly Fetish

"Feet, what do I need you for when I have wings to fly?" - Frida Kahlo

"Keep your feet on the ground, but let your heart soar as high as it will." - A W Tozer

It would seem as though this week's obsession has been feet. I kinda like it :). When I was little, I loved pretending I was a fairy due to my small feet. And, quite honestly sometimes it's still fun to dream such things. And, still believe that fireflies aren't really little bugs but magical little fairies that light up the forest at night. Oh how I wish we had them down here!!

lol I've felt rather in a daze the later half of today due to the rare 3 hour nap I took. I took one on Friday too....What am I becoming?

Party Time

Shane's graduation party was today and it lasted all day long.... It was so nice seeing friends and friends that we haven't seen in forever. I can honestly say that I don't want to eat any more mexican food for a very long time. I didn't take many pictures today, too many people to talk to. :) Goodnight world.......

Just Made It

:/ Tonight's post is very late, but I've made it before 12am. The whole process of getting this picture up, in my mind all I could think of was "I just want to go to bed." All of that only implying because I'm tired. Today was a very refreshing day. Last minute decorating going on this evening and snuggling up with my love, watching Tangled. =D

Nothing Familiar

“Two roads diverged in a wood and I – I took the one less traveled by.” – Robert Frost

"It's a dangerous business, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to." - J.R.R. Tolkien

If you can't tell, I'm aching for an adventure today! Something new and something exciting, and quite possibly slightly dangerous would be nice too. I did some college work today and I couldn't help but find myself thinking up all sorts of crazy ideas, while my lectures played in the background. I would like to wake up in a place where I knew not one person and had all the time in the world to wander, dream, and breath.

Cookie Time

Today was filled with many things. I did get to spend the latter half of the day with Amy, which was very nice. The decorating and preparations continue at home. Amy and I frosted the lemon cookies and maybe ate a few too many =D. It's not possible to use self control on these cookies.

If God be for Us

"Truthful words stand the test of time, but lies are soon exposed."
Proverbs 12:19

"A truthful witness saves lives, but a false witness is a traitor"
Proverbs 14:25

Today was a hard day. But I have the truth and God on my side, what else could I ask for.

Prep Time

After being gone most of the day this is what I came home to. Momma's getting ready for Shane's graduation party on Saturday, chocolate and all :) These don't seem too manly to me, but I guess he has no choice. It's mom and me decorating, what do you expect =)

ReCharge

I needed a recharge today. I'm so thankful for church, supportive friends, and genuine feelings. Openness and honestly is something I can not say I appreciate enough. I really don't have much to say today except that. I'm so drained of emotions. Even when things are unknown to me, God knows and that's enough. Thank the Lord for His Grace and that we're able to go to him with our hearts wide open and He will listen. Oh, and Happy Daddy's Day!

P.S. No, I'm not happy with this picture. But the rainbow that appeared in our backyard view was so beautifully bright.

The Many Adventures of Us

Luke and I explored Renniger's Antique Center this afternoon. Of course, I got stuck in the book section right after we got there :). I could go on forever about how amazing old books are. Backtracking here for a moment...on the way there, we went under an old, train bridge and I spotted a couch sitting in the middle of it way up there!! Amazing! So you can imagine what we did after Renniger's =). Found where the train tracks were and walked til we came to that bridge. It was so very neat!

Something Small

After weeks (or should I say months) of putting off cleaning my room, I finally did it today. You never know, it can be fun finding things that have been buried for awhile. No, it wasn't that bad. But I did find this little album a friend had made for me for my birthday this year. I adore it! And, I've filled it with precious memories, which has made it even better. It has inspired me to make some of my own...now just who to give them to. Happy Weekend everyone!

A Formal Affair

I got up early this morning and shot for the first time in morning light. I love it! Everything was beginning to wake up and the light was casting warm, lacy shadows over everything. And, that inspired me to have tea and make scones?? Yes, it did. Raspberry tea and raisin scones ^_^. As I was bringing out the delicate tea cups and plates, the boys saw the scones and became very interested in having a tea party with me on the back porch. It was all quite lovely.

Just Trust Me

Nothing too creative today, but something that is important. This is my wall chalk board. It's become the place I write down all my random thoughts and verses that hit me in the brain. Amidst all the thoughts I think in a day, today I thought some worrisome ones that really had no business being there. My initial reaction to things I worry about, is how I can fix this. Then I start staring because I'm so lost in my thoughts about the future. When I finally told myself to stop it, this is ridiculous (because I could not come up with a logic answer to my worries), the last part of this verse came to my mind..."lean not on your own understanding." Maybe there isn't a way for me to fix it in my understanding, but God can. And, he tells me to trust. That was enough to make all my worries go away. The Lord will provide, I need not worry about "silly" things. =)

"To Remember How Much You Missed Me"

Today was filled with so many little pleasures. I got up extra early (that was not one of them) to eat breakfast with Luke before we both went to work. I wish I could do that everyday! It was so wonderful and made the day the rest of the day so much better. I love him so much! ^_^ He's such a blessing. This is a little wooden container Luke brought me back from Honduras. It's so cute =) Yes, I was lazy today and this is a last minute picture... =D

Simply Me

I don't know what it was about today, but I'm going to label it a sleepy day. As I've looked and researched weekly picture themes, the greatest one that people seem to dislike, stray from, and lack in, are self portraits. Yeah, it's true. So I decided I'd try it out today. It did take quite awhile to get one that turned out decent. But I can confidently say I like this one and of course the sunflowers help that. :)

A Search for Beauty

Sunday's have become my favorite day of the week, during the summer. I'm always looking for new places and things to take pictures of due to this project (very good thing for me). So I went over to my neighbor's house and wandered all over her beautiful, jungle like (in places which is awesome) flower gardens. I found all sorts of beauty's! The type of flower in this picture, reminds me of a garden we had that was full of them when my brother and I had when we were little. :) I dream of someday having an enclosed garden of flowers like the one in the secret garden. How magical would that be!!

P.S. I must say that I'm so excited Luke is coming back tomorrow!!

An Exciting Meeting

Today was a very exciting day for Caleb. By some strange turn of events, Shane got in contact with Caleb's favorite author, Bryan Davis. And, it just so happened he was driving back home from a road trip today and would be passing by our house. So he stopped by (his wife and daughter as well)... Yeah, stopped by. Ridiculous! But, awesome. I went to get Caleb after they had arrived, and told him someone was here to see him, to which he replied "Is it someone I would want to see?" I now have in my possession a video taped "gasp and a BRYAN D....oh my gosh!!" It was priceless! A very nice family and wonderful people. Glad we were able to meet them :)

The Editor

I set aside this day to edit the hundreds of wedding pictures taken last weekend. Needless, to say I'm still not done. I did buy a lightroom preset today thinking it was a bundle, and didn't find out until it was downloaded onto my computer and nonrefundable. Oh well, trying not to think about it. :/ The one I did end up getting though is a great one. Granola bars, swimming, and volleyball filled the rest of the day. I love days when I don't feel guilty for simply having fun all day long. Hope you all had a lovely Friday! Hello weekend :)

Flaming

Today was a day of getting stuff back in order, namely cleaning. I always light my candles when I'm cleaning and turn on some relaxing music. Celtic music is a gift from God. It's so heavenly! And, I absolutely LOVE candles! It's just good all around. I took this picture in the dark with some new setting ideas.

As I sit here, I'm now contemplating getting a new computer and a big screen =D

Change

Very, very early this morning I was informed that my flight had become completely full, seeing that I was flying stand by. That was a "bit" disappointing... But I'm glad God made that decision for me. And, I can rest in that. When I finally woke up, from a long night of packing, Amy and I decided to head to St. Pete. It was so nice! Thank you God for the beach!!
And, on the way back, we got a pedicure :)

Time to Pack

Well my trip got pushed ahead a day. I'm leaving tomorrow! Which means that today was an absolutely crazy day!! Running around trying to do last minute things. And, it's still not finished. :( So that leads to a last minute picture. But it describes my day pretty well.

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

I can do this!

Yes, I'd like some Chocolate.....

I'm beginning to think that flowers are my if all else fails, comfort pictures. I'm not going to lie it's been a hard day. In fact, I'm about to go get some chocolate before bed. Sitting in my bed with that and my Bible sounds very appealing to me right now. Sweet dreams!

How High

I'm very thankful for this lovely Sunday. I was able to spend the whole day with Luke and say goodbye, as he is leaving for Honduras tomorrow very early. Say a prayer for him and the team he is going with! I'm excited for him and can't wait to hear about all the things God is going to do with them there.

Shelby took this picture tonight while we were out jumping on the trampoline. Luke's always been jealous of how high I can jump ;). Just kidding...more like the other way around.

The Big Day

Today was filled with so many emotions. Watching my friend getting married was incredible. All the nervousness beforehand, and believe me not just by the bride, was well worth the amazing ceremony. They are such a wonderful couple, perfect for each other. I look forward to seeing what God has in store for them. Now, with all that said, I am going to miss Rachel so much :(.

A Graduate

Day number 1 of the crazy weekend is now over and Shane is a high school graduate!! Congrats! His ceremony was really nice and very personalized, compared to mine anyways :). This picture was taken as him and the other graduates were walking up the aisle at the beginning. He also sorta lost his hat after he threw it in the air....must be in the family ;) lol

My Place

I don't think I could have a crazier day than today. So much running around, and all the while it felt as if I was holding my breath. Sometimes I just need a reminder that there are things I can't control, and today held many of those little reminders.

I sit facing this window in my room whenever I'm doing anything on the computer, or such as today knitting. Towards the end of the day, the sun dances through the shadows of the trees on my window sill, fading in and out. It's almost magical. It's my favorite place to be as the sun is beginning to set. This picture doesn't capture the beauty of it, but it does provide a glimpse. I love the light shining on the bottle in this one.

A New Set of Seats

I love early work days. I like my job yes, but I don't believe I was made for sitting or being locked up inside all day. The rest of the day's events proved to be calming to say the least in areas that I've been praying about.

Shane built these bleachers for the volleyball court last week and has been wanting a picture of them since. And, of course Jordan is always wanting his pictures taken so I decided to combine the two. =D

P.S. Sometimes I think I should take pictures in the morning and post so that I'm not so tired by the time I post in the evening lol.
